The leaders of B’nai Brith Canada, together with the Council of Iranian Canadians (CIC)* and Justice88 have put forward a petition that calls on the Canadian government to designate Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) a terrorist entity. This is of urgent importance to all Canadians, especially the Jewish and Iranian communities.
The IRGC poses an imminent threat to Canada. The IRGC has already conducted terrorist attacks against communities in the West. They were found to be behind the Mykonos restaurant bombing in Germany and the bombing of the AIMA Jewish community centre in Argentina. Who will be next?
The IRGC is also the principle financier of terrorist proxies Hezbollah, Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad. Cutting off all funding and/or support to these groups is paramount to protecting the lives of innocent people, especially Israelis but not just Jews. Their terrorism - threatens global stability everywhere.

*Note: The Council of Iranian Canadians (CIC) should not be confused with the similar sounding organization --the Iranian Canadian Council (ICC) – which does not support the initial motion and has yet to issue a word of condemnation against the régime in Iran.
