SELECTED FEEDBACK FROM OUR ATTENDEES:

  1. “As a British citizen I am deeply ashamed of the way we failed to carry out our responsibility to secure a state for the Jewish people as trustee of the British Mandate…” Anne Heelis

  2. Thank you so much, the lecture was mesmerizing… Daphne Pollack

  3. Information packed with 4 different but consistent and complimentary perspectives -- Yasher Koachem. Dr. David Nussbaum

  4. I have just viewed the "Lessons Learned From The Mandate" webinar. It was outstanding! The speakers were excellent. Very impressive was the power point given by Elizabeth Berney. It is certainly something of value I can use in providing education about Israel. I teach in my temple's Religious School in New York City, and also mentor college students who are preparing to teach history in the City's public schools. Mark Willner

  5. Brilliant! We need more. I had never put the info together that if Israel is not legitimate neither are the other countries carved out of the Ottoman Empire. WOW! Amalia Leubitz

  6. For years now I have wondered why Israel has had next to no public relations campaign so to speak, why the Israeli government hasn’t been loudly proclaiming the legal rights of the country to exist and the rights of the Jewish people to their indigenous homeland. I think it was mentioned at one point during the webinar that there was very little of the Israeli budget actually assigned to PR. I’m wondering why is that? I think it would help tremendously in the fight against the rising tide of vilification of Israel and worldwide anti-Zionism/antisemitism if Israel became more vocal about its and the Jewish people’s rights. It is too difficult a fight for the Diaspora to do alone. We need Israel to be more vocal, especially now when so many lies keep being repeated about Israel and the Jews to the point that the lies have become the truth to the ignorant and uneducated. Sari Harell

  7. I attended that fabulous lecture about the [Mandate for Palestine] declaration of Israel’s legal right to exist. I thought it was fabulous and very well organized and put together and I commend you for that. Anonymous

On the Occasion of the 99th Anniversary of the Mandate.

Before the world wide web revolutionized communication in 1989, social media didn’t exist and worldwide news was disseminated through the traditional media channels of press (newspapers, magazines), radio and television plus newsreels in cinemas. Facts and Truth prevailed as there were no readily-available methods and devices to rapidly convey distortions of facts and deliberate misinformation. What was reported was accepted as genuine and honest.

Since then, the freedom to express views and opinions in completely unrestricted language has unleashed a planet-wide tsunami of feelings and attitudes initiating, or responding to, anything that anyone ‘posts’ on the various social media platforms. Inevitably, organisations with specific agendas have been quick to exploit the reach and the ease of the internet to propagate their own objectives.

Conceivably one of the most intensely divisive issues is that of Israel and Palestine which has engaged millions of people across all continents, generating toxic debates, massive protests, violent confrontation, Islamic fundamentalist terrorism, death and destruction. This topic has degenerated into a morass of fabricated narratives where Facts have been intentionally convoluted and Truths have been deliberately labelled as lies. These days ‘reality checks’ no longer count because no one knows whom to believe. The world’s media are so busy managing deadlines and competing for their share of the media space that they have neither the time nor the will to conduct comprehensive research on what they receive in media releases or what they hear in propaganda sound bites or read on social media.
