New Initiative to Promote Israel's Legal Rights

-- Launched in Israel

PANEL #1, held on November 11th, 2018, featuring L-R:

Attah Farhat, Druze Zionist Council head; Matan Peleg, CEO of Im Tirtzu; Dr. Dror Eydar, senior commentator at Israel Hayom; Amir Ohana, Likud MK; Maayan Adam, moderator.

A new series of panels aimed at promoting Israel's legal rights was launched on November 11th at a special event held at Tel Aviv University.

The panel placed emphasis on the Nation-State Law, which was done to counter Tel Aviv University’s recently organized two panels against the Nation-State Bill without offering a competing outlook.

MK Amir Ohana (Likud), chairman of the joint committee that legislated the law said:

"After years of persecution and pogroms, we can now say proudly – we too have a state; it is ours, and its symbols are the Star of David and the Menorah."

Druze Zionist Council head Atta Farhat noted:

“Israel's legal rights are enshrined in international law and Israel is the only democracy in the volatile region of the Middle East.”

He continued:

"Israel is a democracy because it is Jewish. If it would cease to be Jewish, it would cease to be democratic."

Goldi Steiner, founder and co-chair of Canadians for Israel's Legal Rights, said that learning about Israel's rights is the key to combating the myriad false claims against Israel.

"There is only one way to counter the ever-growing accusations of apartheid, occupation, and all the lies propagated by anti-Israel organizations like If Not Now, B'Tselem, Peace Now, etc., and that is through education."

Matan Peleg, CEO of Im Tirtzu, gave concluding remarks at the conference and said: "In contrast to the two consecutive conferences held by Tel-Aviv University that aimed to question the justness of Zionism, the number of participants at our conference proved that the public chooses Zionism."

And he added:

"We would like to thank Canadians for Israel's Legal Rights which enabled us to help organize the panels and strengthen Zionism."

Consequently, various panels will follow. They will be organized by the Zionist organization Im Tirtzu in partnership with Canadians for Israel's Legal Rights (CILR), and will be held on campuses and cities throughout Israel with aims to educate students and the general public.
